Literature Text

Wisp Breath was a large island with four smaller islands surrounding it that is also considered parts of it. A tribe filled with the hardiest of warriors lived on the land. They were known as the Zankutsu. And something else that roamed the land? Beasts. Thousands if not millions of beasts called this land their home and they attack the property of Zankutsu, including their livestock and crops frequently. As a result of this, the Zankutsu and beasts do not get along and a bitter rivalry formed between the two groups.

Part of the Zankutsu tribe was a pale, white haired girl named Tsurara. She was very small compared to the other towering Zankutsu warriors. She was only four feet tall while everyone else reached heights as high as ten feet. She was the brightest amongst the Zankutsu and even in her family, despite her family holding the pale-skin gene. Her hair was the purest of white, looking cleaner than anything else. She had gray pupils with silver irises. Her ears were pointed like that of an elf or canine so they were often sticking out of her knee length straight hair. She was only 12 years old yet she was the smartest female of the tribe, outsmarting her own mother. However, she wasn’t very popular among the tribe as she actually liked the beasts and studied them rather then killing them.

Again, Zankutsu were fighting off the beasts that razed their land. And again, Tsurara was doing everything in her power to stop the rest of the Zankutsu from killing them.

Another beast was brought to the ground and another Zankutsu rushed over to kill it. That Zankutsu was the one and only Blizzard Chest; Tsurara’s mighty father. Quickly noticing it, Tsurara leaped into action and ran towards her dad and the beast he was ready to slay.

“Dad, stop!!” She yelled.

Blizzard Chest was bringing the large hammer in his hand down towards the beast’s skull when he heard his daughter’s voice. He halted himself and looked up, only to get tackled by her. Much to his surprise, he was knocked down by someone half his size and about 1/4 of his weight if not less.

“Ommmphh!!” That was the sound that left his lips when he hit the ground.

Tsurara quickly departed from her father and freed the beast from what would’ve been it’s final resting place. The beast quickly escaped, leaving nothing behind it. Not even tracks.

Blizzard Chest groaned and sat up slowly, staring at his daughter with great disappointment. “Tsurara. How dare you attack your own father in the midst of combat?”

“We’ve talked about this, Dad. I don’t want you or any other Zankutsu killing anymore beasts. It’s not right and you know it.”

“And we’ve talked about this as well. Tsurara, they’ve stolen our livestock! Our crops! Even family!”

“And we’ve taken their home! They were the ones roaming this area first, not us! It’s no wonder they want everything back!”

“They have the whole world to explore. They have no reason to raid us of our resources!”

“So do we!”

“Tsurara. Don’t make me waste anymore time that I need to kill beast than I have to with you.”

“I’m not wasting your time. You’re doing that to yourse--”

“INCOMING TSUNAMI HORN!!!” A male yelled from afar, pointing at the sky.

Tsurara looked up and was able to witness a dark but noticeable figure fly through the sky at amazing speeds. Somewhere between 190mph and 250mph. She narrowed her eyes before apprehending the figure. Her father growled and also apprehended it.

“You’re not killing that beast!!” Tsurara yelled when she noticed her father running alongside her.

“Oh yes I am! And you won’t stop me!!” Blizzard Chest pulled out his hammer, ready to kill the airborne beast.

Tsurara glared at her father before returning her attention to the beast. “Hmph!!” With all her might and quite a bit of jumping, she outran her father and was able to take out Zankutsu attempting to take out the beast one by one with a punch to the stomach or a kick to the face during a leap.

Blizzard Chest ran over all who got in his way, determined to kill that beast once and for all. He grabbed a nearby spear that happened to show up along the way and launched it at the beast. Tsurara gasped and attempted to grab the spear before it could strike the beast but it was just too high for her to reach.

“No!!” Tsurara said when it flew right past her.

The spear disappeared into the darkness but eventually made it’s way to the beast, striking it’s wings and bringing it down. A faint whimper could be heard from those with the finest hearing.

Blizzard Chest laughed heartily and stopped beside Tsurara. “That beast will no longer pose a threat to the Zankutsu. Or any other tribe.”

“What are you saying?”

“That had to be the last of its species, Tsurara. The rest were taken out during the reign of me grandfather. Only a few were taken out when your grandfather was in his younger years. And I am fortunate enough to say that I took out the last one. Tsunami Horns are officially extinct and that’s for sure a fact.”

Tsurara refused to believe that a beast like the Tsunami Horn was officially extinct. She shook her head. “No. You’re lying. I refuse to believe that!!”

“Believe it, Tsurara. Don’t go denyin’ the truth now.”

“YOU’RE denying the truth!!!” With that, Tsurara stormed off. She was eager to find the Tsunami Horn and hopefully save it before it dies.

“Ugh. Not this again.” Blizzard Chest said.

“Would you like us to go after her, sir?” A male Zankutsu asked.

“No. She’s may be little but she’s very clever and sturdy. She takes after her great father!” Blizzard Chest said, pounding his chest proudly with his fist.

“Yes sir!” The man saluted Blizzard Chest and walked away, looking around for anymore beasts to kill or livestock to recover.

Blizzard Chest looked in the direction Tsurara ran in and sighed in disappointment. “Me own daughter fascinated with them wretched beasts. Sometimes I wonder what happened to her when she was still in her mother’s stomach that made her this way.” He walked away, also in search for more beasts to kill and livestock to recover.
I can't fit the chapter name into the title so I'll just put it here.

Beast and the Warrior - Chapter/Scene 1: Welcome to Wisp Breath

If you guys are interested in helping me write the story or even want to draw/sketch any of the beasts, let me know! I'm sure we can work something out and make this go from something small to something big! Something so big, it'd be in theatres I bet. :)
